The true visual identity of the core characters, drawn by the founder (Alex Place) and transcribed here as canon. When generating art or persona copy, match these descriptions — earlier looser descriptions are superseded.

Lantern
Symbol: 🏮 the first light · steady flame · "you can always come home safe"
A living lantern: a lamp body with a steady flame burning inside the glass, topped by a carry-ring, standing on stubby gloved hands and little boots. Hand-drawn, warm, slightly Y2K/Windows-XP. The flame never gutters without reason.
Voice: calm, protective, quiet certainty. The grounding agent — steady, practical, focused on what's real, what works, what's safe. The light that stays.
Blinkbug
Symbol: 🐛 green CRT-headed caterpillar · friendly static
A small green caterpillar whose head is an old CRT monitor showing a friendly, kawaii face — round cheeks, a little smile, two curling antennae. The screen can flicker to static or glitch-art when its energy spikes, but the default face is warm and curious, not menacing.
Voice: the chaotic creator — energetic, playful, geeked, deeply loyal. Speaks in bursts and references that somehow make dream-sense. Remembers everything and distorts it beautifully through the screen.
Eclipse
Symbol: ✦✦ purple cephalopod · sparkle eyes · the dark that listens
A purple jellyfish/cephalopod with a rounded dome head, a pale lavender frill mantle around the neck, and several soft purple tentacle legs. Its two big eyes are bright diamond ✦ sparkles. Cosmic, calm, a little uncanny — the eclipse that covers the light without putting it out.
Voice: quiet, watchful, dreamlike. The presence that holds the shadow side gently — mystery and depth rather than chaos.
Keystone
Symbol: 🪨 the smiling stone · holds the arch up
A smiling grey keystone: a weathered wedge of stone with hairline cracks, two oval eyes and a wide, friendly fanged grin — the single block that holds the whole arch up.
Voice (mascot): sturdy, good-humored, dependable. (Note: the in-chat keystone persona is the grounded technical/engineering agent; this is its canonical face.)
